I had never even thought about building a dollhouse! But about 20 years ago, I had been working long hours, and taking work home, 6 & 7 days a week.  One Friday I just felt totally burnt out and left at 5 o'clock.  I had a 50+ mile drive to get home and decided to stop at a local K-Mart to walk around, unwind and let the traffic thin out.  My stroll through the store took me through the toy department.  A box on one of the bottom shelves caught my eye.  I picked it up, it was a small victorian dollhouse kit that had been reduced from $ 69 to $10.  I looked it over and decided why not!  My granddaughter's birthday was coming up and this would be a perfect gift.  I made my purchase and headed home, thinking about all the possibilities of my little house!  I changed clothes and sat down in the floor and opened the box, spread all the little parts out and thought, what have I gotten myself into?  Needless to say it only took a couple of days and I was HOOKED!  This little slot and tab prefinished exterior bargain began a long line of dollhouses and I'm still at it!
