ODDS AND ENDS

The round velvet sofa started out as styrofoam and corragated cardboard!!!

I trimmed a 6" styrofoam circle to 5", cut the top from a 6" styrofoam cone for the backrest, applied the batting to the cone then covered with red velvet and tuft stitched it. I then covered the cardboard with the center cut out to fit over the cone, with !/2" thick batting and glued the velvet around the cut out area, after it had dried, pulled over and glued the outer edge under around the cardboard, then tuft stitched thru the cardboard. I wrapped a piece of velvet around the edge of the styrofoam circle and over the edge about 1/2" on the top and the bottom, coverd one side of the cardboard circle with the velvet, cut a small cardborad circle using a quarter as a pattern, covered it with velvet and glued in place in the top center of the backrest, inserted toothpicks into the bottom of the backrest leaving 1" exposed, then glued in the center of the styrofoam, slipped the seat onver the backrest and glued in place, glued the bottom circle over the bottom and used round wooden beads for the feet....
