ODDS AND ENDS

This looks like a good place for this ODD bit of crafting...so let's take a break from housework!!!!!

Now don't scroll down and take a peek!!!!!!!

A few years ago, my daughter Karen and my mother were visiting, and of course I was working on my minis!! I opened a new furniture kit and there was a brochure of all their kits included. And you know how we wish!!! Well, I pointed to one of the kits and said .."I would love to have one of those!!" I did not think anymore about it. A few months went by and my birthday came around and Karen and my mother gave me this hugh box....not shaped right to be mini stuff and too heavy for clothes!!
I opened the package and lifted the lid...and there was the most beautiful supply of mini lumber I had ever seen...oak, teak, maple, mahogney.....packages of tiny thing-a-ma-jigs and 15 doubled sided sheets, not just pages, of instructions for building the U.S.S. Constitution!!!!!

Boy was I suprised!!!

But there was one major drawback...the majority of the instructions were in Italian!!!!----- OH BOY!!! ----I had a friend in Savannah, GA that was into ships, so my next trip to work there, I took the instructions with me....She took one look and like to have died laughing!!! Told me to go down to the docks and find me an Italian sailor!!! With that not being one of my options...I took on the challange!!!

It is built from scratch.....The Dremel tool really came in handy for this project, with all the sawing and drilling required!!!

There were 1800 tiny pieces to form the simulated copper hull plating...

The bow.....

The mid ship..as you can see it has all the lower decks with the gangways, etc....

The stern..you can see the captains quarters with the windows!!!!

More of the ship on the next page....!!
