The Williamsburg

I was finishing up the colonial house when one of my neighbors  came over and asked me a dumb question-------
Would you like to have another dollhouse???
Her uncle had bought a kit and made a mess out of it and could not finish it and said I could have it for $20!  You know by now I can't pass up a bargain!
It was a Williamsburg and he had made a mess out of it, the walls were together but incorrectly, the only thing to do was take it apart.....easier said than done!  Wound up knocking it apart with a heavy hammer, wasn't sure if I would have a house or a pile of splinters, but nothing else worked.  The hammer did it, not a scratch or dent in the parts as they came apart.  I cleaned the edges and started over.    Found all kinds of things in pewter and copper, they wound up in my box of treasures.  I still have them as I sold this house before I furnished it.

This shows the full back side.  There are stairs from the third floor to a trap door in the roof, leading to the widows walk.
The throw pillows are again some cross stitch pieces.

This is the living room.  The paneling is made from basswood cut to size and beveled on the edges and 3/8 stripwood.

This is the hallway, again the wall treatment is made using 3/8 inch stripwood.  The rug is cross stitched using a full size hooked rug pattern and black 24 count aida cloth.
